Violent Clash Erupts at Wedding in Uttar Pradesh; Several Injured as Police Launch Probe

A wedding celebration in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district turned violent when a dispute over DJ music triggered a stick-wielding clash between two groups at an Orai guest house. Several people were injured and hospitalized. CCTV footage captured the incident as police launched a formal investigation.

A wedding celebration in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district descended into chaos late Sunday night when a dispute over DJ music escalated into a violent confrontation between two groups. The incident occurred at a guest house in the Orai Kotwali Nagar area, where guests reportedly clashed with sticks and wooden poles after a drunken argument spiraled out of control.

According to preliminary information, members from both sides were engaged in a heated exchange about the choice of songs being played. Witnesses said the tension, fueled by intoxication, quickly turned physical as multiple individuals began assaulting one another amid the festivities. The entire brawl was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the venue, providing investigators with a clear view of the sequence of events.

Several people sustained injuries during the melee and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately disclosed by authorities, but police confirmed that all injured individuals are receiving medical care.

Law enforcement officials have begun reviewing the CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses to piece together the circumstances that led to the outbreak of violence. Officers from Orai Kotwali have initiated an inquiry and said appropriate legal action will follow once responsibility for the assault is established.

The incident has raised concerns about rising aggression at large gatherings and the challenges local authorities face in maintaining order during celebratory events. Police have urged the public to exercise restraint and avoid allowing minor disputes—particularly those exacerbated by alcohol—to escalate into violent confrontations.
